I've searched q drops for the phrase and can't find it so I assume one of us came up with it.
I studied marketing and NLP for a while, and people subconsciously associate these slogans with themselves.
So if you hear "Freedom is coming", your subconscious thinks "yay, I'll have more freedom"
But if you hear "Pain is coming", your subconscious thinks "Oh shit, I'm going to be in pain"
To illustrate by exaggeration... imagine if the slogan was "Pain, suffering and hell are coming". If you continue to hear that, it doesn't make you feel good. Even though you logically know it's not targeted to you, your subconscious processes it before your logical mind and makes it about yourself or "we" as in you and the people around you.
Pain ain't for us
Yep, know that already but like I said when you hear a slogan like this your subconscious processes it first and relates it to itself before your logical mind has the opportunity to rationalise that it's about someone else.
Like if I were to say "eating a shit sandwich"... first your subconscious mind thinks about eating a shit sandwich in order to understand the phrase. It then realises that it's not pleasant, but it had to imagine you doing it first to come to that conclusion. Which isn't pleasant, doesn't make you feel great. This is all subconscious so you don't realise it on the surface. Even if you know that "eating a shit sandwich" is a slogan about other people doing it, you still subconsciously taste shit sandwich every time you hear it.
You learn about this stuff in marketing. The word "coming" makes you feel as though something is coming towards you, since whenever you have said the phrase "x is coming" in life, 99% of the time it's because something is coming towards you. "Grandma's coming around"... "The bus is coming..." etc. So when you hear it "x is coming", you relate "x" to yourself.
Not sure how long you have been following this, but I think from your posts you are relatively new. Pain and The Punisher logo have come up a few times in the Q drops, and always in the context of long overdue punishment to deeply evil people We are at the point now that this is the time the pain is coming, then the world changes and we have our freedom, so while I understand the legitimacy of subconscious effects on us, Pain is coming has not been or meant to be a slogan to rally behind. It was a threat to those that were watching and meant to get in their heads every time they see the Punisher logo or the word pain
Thank you for your lucid reply, much appreciated
