Well I am going to say this now that it’s been a little bit since the DC airspace shutdown. When monkeyworx was showing those 2 planes that bugged outta DC headed east to Europe one was an E2 and I can’t remember the other. The E2 stuck out to me. It was traveling about 8,000 feet higher than it’s service ceiling and unless it was getting a helluva tailwind it was about 75 knots faster than it’s max cruising speed. That was an oddity but I wanted to keep it close to the chest in case there was some black ops stuff.
There was one yesterday that stood out to me like that. Left Pearl Harbor and headed toward Andrews. Was squawking as a C-37B but had a tracked speed of 500+ kts--that's almost twice the speed those birds go at cruise from what I know.
