They usually rotate them. On long foreign trips both are used.
I cowrote and edited a PBS documentary on the history of Presidential flight back in 1989 when these two 747s came on line. Was onboard 28000 for a day (on the ground). Also have some really nice hi res photos of the exterior and interior.
Absolutely, I’ve just been tracking the movements of the planes recently, and 82-8000 is currently the one POTUS has been using. Especially considering it has been in Andrews and hasn’t gone to Nebraska recently.
As for the rest, that is awesome! It’d be really cool if you could post those pics some where, I’d love to seen them!
What i have are 12" x 24" wide format prints. Not sure how I would get them scanned digital. I should try to contact the photographer on the project. Been ages since I've talked to him. The executive producer that has all original film died in 2007.
Take them to a UPS store that makes drafting blue print copies. The one near me can do up to 36" wide prints.
They took over Kinkos as I recall. Great idea!
