3rd ID is mechanized infantry. They come to bring the 'Boom'.
10th mountain is Light Infantry. I was part of 10th during my service. We have vehicles as well but our mission obj is to do everything on foot. We hardly do any mounted operations. Hope this gives some insight to you guys.
