This morning coming in from walking my dog, they were outside puffing on the ecigs. I said what's happening, she says just waiting for the world to end. I said Joe will never be president, mark my words. I went on, you don't put 25k NG in DC for a virtual inauguration and Trump will be President for 4 more years. They just stood there staring at me like I have 2 heads, lol. Told husband, he was dying laughing.
That leaves (again for easy maths) 20% of people in the middle Independent range.
By these numbers you could estimate that half of Democrat party affiliation people would pull over into Trump/Independent land quite quickly. We know this because moderates and conservatives make up roughly half of Democratic voters. Trump made a genius play in May 2020 saying "I don't need to wear a mask when on a podium, you guys would love that". It was being rational since it didn't help, and since communist takeovers have always loved inverting the country and inverting Trump, he made the permanently demoralized permanently have an identifier. I feel he went with a rational message with lockdowns and masks without actions, so everyone could see the evil.
