I dont know about "stop packing" specificaly, but absolutely 1000% there was an email that was sent out to WH Staff pertaining to standard transition & wind-down procedures.

The very next day, another email was sent out telling everyone to "disregard the prior day's email & further instructions will follow soon."

Hmmmm........
