I understand what it is, but I've always questioned why. Is it so we can listen to it and sooth our frazzled nerves - or is it there for some other purpose?

I think Q sincerely wants us to listen and heal.
Hidden message? Maybe because We are affected by frequency and vibration. Music has been set at a lower vibration on purpose. And I know that vibrations can affect our dna. Most of us don’t even need to be told this. We know how music changes our mood.
Theory is that certain vibrations can heal us on a cellular level. Pretty cool right?
correct, but one fix - music now is tuned UP in other words the A goes from 432 natural pitch to 440 stressful pitch. its all sped up a bit which is stress inducing. all. music. all of it. you cam find copies of the songs you like tuned down to 432 hz go try it and see if you like your old favorites even better

That's amazing, I need to look into that. As I've gotten older, I've noticed I enjoy music less - on some level it almost makes me feel anxious, regardless of the genre ... I wonder if age (or early stage hearing loss) increases one's sensitivity to the higher pitches.

Hard to tell if the piano phrase is intended to be two notes or three, because the first one is almost ghosted half the time, and I think basically absent the rest of the time. Either way, though, the emphasis is F to G, or 4 to 5; 45.
45 is also audible in the background strings.
The ghost phrase is 345. And I'm pretty sure I heard a D towards the end, for a 2345.

Maybe a stretch, but is there anything significant in the visuals?
Wood-grained circle, looks vaguely like a knot; the twists remind me a little of a moebius band ... not sure if the specific form suggests something mathematical, or maybe is symbolic of something. I'll have to think on it a bit.

After some processing, there is very clearly something being spoken by a low-pitched male voice. At 0:48 it sounds like he's saying "freedom of movement" but I can't really make it out.

I can hear some mumbling in other parts and some clicks/pops and background hiss but I can't make out the words. I'm in a noisy environment and haven't had luck cleaning it up better than this. It definitely sounds like speech to me though

Yes. I definitely hear something. I'm going to bed though, and don't have time to fiddle with it until tomorrow. I have audacity, though, and I'll try those settings - if the world isn't losing it's collective mind.
