10 U.S. Code § 12406 - National Guard in Federal service: call
U.S. Code
Whenever—
(1)the United States, or any of the Commonwealths or possessions, is invaded or is in danger of invasion by a foreign nation;
(2)there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States; or
(3)the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States;
the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary to repel the invasion, suppress the rebellion, or execute those laws. Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States or, in the case of the District of Columbia, through the commanding general of the National Guard of the District of Columbia.
Okay, the thing is......the mayor had requested to Trump to send in Troops and he approved. Not sure why so many thing the Left suddenly in charge. Trump approved the NG to being there. He is STILL President.....will be, until Biden is officially inaugurated in. Trump's still very much involved with control the military still.
Ok so I’m getting a bunch of different answers haha.
It seems like Trump can call them in but because the mayor requested them?
So then we are assuming Trump just knew they would request them? That’s a bit of a stretch I think we are making then. What if they weren’t requested? Would he have still called in the NG?
Dems have no control over military. Trump is the commander in chief.
Yeah, wasn't thrilled with Tucker tonight...

It doesn't work. NG reports to Govs and CIC, so if Trump didn't want them there, they wouldn't be there.
