It was NOT a sonic boom. Been through one of those as well. No noise. The vibrations lasted a few minutes.

My dad was stationed in San Diego back in the 70's. When the neighbor pilot returned from a sea tour, he would fly over the house and throttle up to let his wife know he was home. Shook the house/china. Well, not that China, you know what I mean.
