Not quite for me, but close.
The longest two weeks of my life were after my back surgery while on Convalescence Leave from the Navy. They had waited so long to do the surgery, and had me hopped up on so many opioid pain killers, I ended up addicted. This is back in 01-02, before anyone knew how bad they were. They had me taking 45 mg morphine for the pain, and 25 mg Lortab for the "breakthrough" pain, plus two different types of muscle relaxers. Anyway, I quit cold turkey after the now ex wife threatened to leave with the kids. I was such an asshole in that shit, I couldn't blame her for feeling that way. The dope sickness and withdrawals I experienced for two weeks I will never forget.
Ironically, yrs after I was out of the Navy, the opioid crisis hit, and who get hooked? The now ex wife. She ended up splitting, leaving me with all the kids. She's clean now, but I will never fully forgive her for that.
Wow, good on you being clean fren.
