The transponder wasn't/didn't get picked up, it fills in the gaps where it's predicted to be, it's to do with the exchange we are on and the coverage mostly, that short of a distance would be fairly normal I would say.

Look on some other aircraft and you will see crazy angles, I believe that will be certain aircraft hiding themselves and confusing the data.
