Antifa goes all the way back to 1930s and Nazi Germany. They were built by Stalin as opposing forces to Hitler's brownshirts, and they always wore black color to distiinguish them (from brown in fights). Thus the "communists anti fascists", versus Hitler's "nazi fascists".

Soros simply inherited his favorite troops from Papa Djugashvili.
