Prior to the 6th, President Trump acted very much like the president we know and love. Past the 6th, He felt very hands off. We didn't hear from him for a while, then bam bam boom we're here past the 20th. President Trump has always been his own man, and the shift just strikes me as incredibly peculiar and out of character.

Two ideas:
Pence legitimately stabbed Trump in the back and he didn't see that decision coming after him being his #1 ally. Trump's heart wasn't in it after that.
Trump is in control and everything was an act to make the enemy think he was conceding
Either he was counting on Pence to reject, or he had the full force of the US Military ready to complete The Greatest Sting in Human History.
Not both.
It wasn’t like he was going to turn to his collection of poised, swamp-draining generals and far flung election-tracking spy network after Pence rejected the votes and say “Oh, never mind. Mike’s got it covered, boys.”
Ha. No, if there was ever a plan at all (and oh is there!), this is exactly how it was designed to go down. (And yeah, Pence would’ve been in on it.)
Placing all your bets on one man seems like a bad “plan”, even if he sent those electoral votes back to the states there would still be no guarantee.
Also there was that press conference on election fraud a long time ago where they only had one trump/pence sign and almost all just trump signs.
I am 99% sure Trump knew who Pence was and also 99% sure Trump wasn’t putting all of his eggs in that one basket.
The timeline would be more like
He can't stop the election fraud on Nov 3rd, he can't use the FBI or military, he had to keep the deep staters in there to even make it 4 years without congress removing him
Trump tries his best to win by enough so Biden can't cheat, they have backup plan this time with enough ballots. He hopes for Supreme Court, and then still has some hopium in Jan 6th that Pence who's been with him the whole way about voter fraud is at least going to try the EAC route and test the Supreme Court's decision on it. The whole white house expects Pence to do it, he sends the letter saying he's not going to. Kayleigh crying the next day before the press conference that her religious father figure turned out to betray America.
