Taking the oath of office, for any President, can be done at any time. As stated in the Twentieth Amendment, the end of term is at exactly 12 o’clock (noon) on January 20th. The oath of office, Article II Section 1 Clause 8, states that the oath must be taken before executing the duties of that office.
