So a fren of mine who attended the Jan 6th got a call from our local FBI branch yesterday and posted his voicemail he left him.
Friendly FBI agent said he was following up on a anonymous tip he was there and wanted to meet and discuss. If Trump's presidency taught me anything, anonymous sources are another word for straight up BS
Personally, I think they traced his phone. Don't you need a court order (FBI) to utilize that data?
What are his legal options? I told him that he should lawyer up even though he claims he got there way late and just followed the crowd in because it appeared open to the public by that point and only stayed in the first room for a little bit before leaving.
I would think that they will need to show proof where a actual tip was submitted or a court order if they did trace his phone.
Knowing him, he can probably handle himself well if he just goes and talks to the agent. But he is not a Q follower and I don't think he has reached that broken trust level yet with the FBI like we have.
He just screwed himself so fucking bad and will probably end up doing a few years in prison. It is a felony to lie to a federal agent. This is the same charge they send Martha Stewart to prison for. He is now at the mercy of the prosecutors and more than likely they're going to come back with a charge of lying to the FBI on top of whatever else they want to throw on it and he's going to have to cop a plea deal just to avoid them nailing him to the wall
