Does anyone know a good source to find a legit copy of the US Constitution before it was replaced with the 1871 version? I'm having a hard time coming up with one.
https://uscode.house.gov/static/constitution.pdf
I found several paperback books on Amazon that supposedly are the Constitution, Declaration, and Bill of Rights - but now, knowing there are two versions, I have doubts the one I got is the “right” one.
I'm ignorant to this lol, but how many copies do we have? What happened in 1871?
This may be a more reputable source but it pretty much explains the same thing.
The Two US Constitutions
"With the passage of “the Act of 1871” a city state (a state within a state) called the District of Columbia located on 10 sq miles of land in the heart of Washington was formed with its own flag and its own independent constitution – the United States’ secret second constitution."
Do you know anywhere one could purchase or get the original constitution replica?
Thanks boss man
No prob. According to a few different source including this one, they left out the original 13th amendment having to do with titles of nobility in the new version. I'm just a skeptic and want to verify myself because it's hard to trust anything anymore
Personally, because I can't in good faith or conscience begin to act on unsubstantiated claims. I'm just trying to best understand what the actual fuck is going on so I'm not left oblivious next time like I am now.
Check out BardsFM on Podbean. He put links to these documents on one of his shows. Constitution, bill of rights, etc.
He also starting a daily show of reading the Federalist Papers with discussions.
He's on Podbean now. It's an app
Thank you
They were deleted from the source he gave... This website backed them up and uploaded, but it says it is a copy of the 1871 version
I’ll see if I can get a picture of the copy my friend has.
