Wouldn't it be funny (s) if the people we followed thinking they had inside information were in reality just repeating what they are getting from us here?

Likely. You mean how tv series have to change their plotlines for future episodes after the public guesses what is going to happen so writers harvest ideas from forums to change the story and make it seem like their idea? Open sourced story telling and news. News is just a story or idea. Real or not. All ideas are built upon other ideas.
