In the finale of Star Trek the Next Generation they often reference an "inverse tachyon pulse" as a way to communicate across time. This episode features Captain Picard flipping between three different timelines.
That’s my theory that they have a Quantum computer. Combined with the data collected through the NSA and media across the world, I think a Quantum computer could very accurately predict certain actions and events with strong probabilities.

Not impossible as I understand it. It is just that too much energy, too strong a gravitational field, and too large a distance would be required to send any information into the past. As far as science is concerned, right now humans are probably not capable of doing it. If you are curious to learn a little about the theoretical physics behind it, Ronald Mallett authored a book that covers the possibilities. It's called: Time Traveler: A Scientist's Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality. I enjoyed it.
