Yep. Italy seems to always be "teetering on the edge of despair" every year.
Like that furniture store down the road that has a "Going out of business sale"... every year.
Yeah, at least since Berlusconi's shenanigans
Italian government is one of the most unstable and corruption ridden in Europe, if not THE most
But you, me and others will get downvoted to oblivion for pointing such things out by people who didn't even really look into it, because they're hopium fiends looking for any bit of HABBENING, no matter how big of a nothingburger it is
Okay, enlighten us about the previous time it happened, to the Italian PM specifically. What year?
2019 - and it was the same guy that’s resigning now. The one before that resigned in 2018. Italy has had more than 60 governments since WWII, this really is nothing out of the ordinary.
What is extraordinary is that it is happening in multiple countries around the world.
You're right that each resignation in isolation is nothing remarkable. It's the simultaneous resignations in multiple countries that is noteworthy.
Yeah, Italy is one of the best examples of why the popular vote is a bad plan. Viva la republica!
1998, 2000, 2008, 2011 (Berlusconi PM)
Conte was already threatening resignation back in 2019
Edit: Conte actually RESIGNED in 2019 but was reinstated
As European I'm quite up to date with EU
What about Renzi? Why he in trouble?
