My best mate is an atheist, and he's mentioned it only once in all the years I've known him.
At the other extreme, I once met an atheist while backpacking who within half an hour of meeting everyone basically gave a two hour sermon on his beliefs.
The preachy atheists give the non-preachy atheists a bad name.
Here's the way I've always looked at the whole Theist/atheist thing: If I believe in God, live a godly life, treat people as I would like to be treated and strive to always do the right thing, then I die and discover there is no God...what have I lost? Nothing. I will have left behind my reputation. If I am right, then I will live in heaven with God and the saints for eternity.
On the other hand, if I don't believe in God, regardless of the life I've lived for good or evil, and I die and discover God DOES exist, then I will spend eternity in Hell.
To me, the choice seems obvious. You've got nothing to lose by putting your faith in God...and everything to gain.
Just my two cents...
Voltaire on his deathbed : what do you have to lose??
Nah, Christianity is not insurance. I’ve noticed the real gospel is NEVER preached by Q people. The point is not to “believe in God”...it all centers around Jesus Christ
