The Washington Monument is a 555 foot tall obelisk.
The San Jacinto Monument, on the Houston Ship Channel is taller. Ours is 567.31 feet high... and, we have a star on the top that weighs 220 tons.
Plus... our monument stays lit. We don't have power failures for unexplained reasons.
