I am trying to imagine Trump putting everything into place and getting this plan rolling, including putting all the safeguards so he can hand the reins to Biden without worrying about him crashing the plan somehow, and yet forgot to take care of one pesky detail that is impeachment.

I cannot foresee exactly how this is going to play out, but I can confidently say this is a scenario that has been gamed out.
