THIS right here. Once McConnell figured out how to effectively use the filibuster, BOTH parties were off the hook for ACTUALLY DOING THEIR JOBS. It's just too easy for legislation to be blocked. I mean, look at the $2k. Trump wanted, dems wanted it, half of Republicans wanted it, but mitch's donors (I assume) didn't want it, so it never even got brought to the floor. Now the dems will just blame their failure to pass anything on the filibuster, but they "don't have the votes" to change the rules.
