They were surprised when I said I had no plans to get the vaccine. They asked, "what if it were mandatory?" And I said, "then we'd have to have a serious conversation about that." The subject was changed quickly to something more light-hearted. But it seems like they're at least considering mandating a vaccine in order to work at this office. And if they do decide that, they'll be looking for a new manager for their shipping department.

Never quit, then you're not eligible for unemployment and you lose the right to sue them for wrongful termination. I forced my former employer to fire me. Took a while, but government finally approved unemployment under "disability" impacted by "covid"... now getting paid more per week then I was making at that job despite 10 years of dedicated service. Plus, now hundreds of customers pissed at the management. Still have 11 weeks of benefits while the legal investigation continues.
That is awesome that you are milking the system and not working and getting paid more than if you were working! Keep the faith!
At first I didn't try to claim benefits because I trusted the legal process would protect me and be done in a month or two. After I realized it would take longer, I listened to my wife who said: "these are YOUR benefits because they force YOU to give them YOUR money for 10 years, and they fucked YOU." I couldn't disagree with that logic ?
