I think that people have always organized themselves around stories. Some are better that others. Also if you take any large enough group of data, you can find a "code". Remember "the bible code"? Be that as it may, it is obvious as hell that many (most) of the very powerful are some sick f*cks.
Changing your observation bias does work in your daily life. Just as at the quantum level we have achieved particle teleportation. Doesn't mean it scales. Just sayin'
