Aircrew has to stay current on flight hours; a lot of flights get done at the end of each month because of this.
There's an A-10 in Nevada. Nice.
A little heavier than usual. THIS is a little concerning.. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae2230,adfeb8,ae040e,ae222d,ae5c71
Why concerning? It's nothing more than test/eval flights out of PAX, Md. VX-1, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron One, (AIRTEVRON ONE) is a United States Navy air test and evaluation squadron based at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. Operational aircraft are assigned to VX-1 including the P-8A Poseidon, E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, MH-60R, and MH-60S. Additionally, VX-1 provides test and evaluation support for aircraft such as the KC-130J Hercules, E-6B Mercury, MQ-8B Fire Scout, and MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
The squadron operated two specially equipped P-3 aircraft that were equipped to collect data from the large sonobuoy fields used by the Sonobuoy Missile Impact Location System (SMILS) which supported the Navy's fleet ballistic missile program testing. The aircraft modifications enabled the aircraft to receive and record more sonobuoys, had a special timing system, and a data monitoring and quick look capability. The Air Force Advanced Range Instrumentation Aircraft could also operate with SMILS.

still looking for subs.
Damn right it is, I didn't know two P8s had joined the search!
ANOTHER P8 inbound
For those of us that don't really understand aviation, what is the significance of the p8?
Submarine search and destroy..
Thanks!
Was an E6 on station for a while as well.
why
The drone is a marine specialized type, Two sub-hunters in one area is very suspect..
It's not abnormal.
~60 over from what the planefags say.
Currently a Q4 drone up near Chesapeake bay as well as a P8
Live close to the bay there is also naval ships and planes in the air by the naval academy all the time, Hope this helps I don't know much about planes but I fish by the naval academy alot.
I couldn't say if there is any significance but hopefully the fishing stays good for you
Thanks Fren! The rock fishing was awesome this past late summer and fall! As fast as it came it left right before the end of the season! The crabbing was pretty good there! If you ever have a chance to try some fishing there don't miss it there are some good hotels right on the water!
It's a test aircraft out of Pax River. Not an operational flight. Pax River is home to the Navy's test aircraft programs. Public info if you search on "NAS Patuxent River" along with all the platforms they fly.
Completely normal. Please don't fall for the drama queens who only want to imitate Chicken Little over every little thing by screeching "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" The easiest thing to do to prove my position on this is to go to the site [ https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ ], click on the "U" at the top right, and then watch for yourself for a few days at different times of the day and night. You'll be able to quickly figure out all on your own what's normal and what's not.
Post/ask here. https://greatawakening.win/p/11SK2dpQkF/weekly-plane-thread/
That looks to be a bit more in the air than usual but not enough to raise an eyebrow.
A lot more Refuelers up than average.
A lot of TEX2/T38 trainers but not out of the ordinary.
An above average number of Electronic recon AC
An above average number of Transports as well
We will never see any actual Military Operations (non transponding)
All those tankers spending so much time in the air lately has me curious.
Telling... Much more than meets the eye!
