Late to the party. Is there an explanation someplace for what gematria is and how it works?

I notice one of the results is “It’s time.”

There is not a single mention of gematria in any Q drops. The whole gematria thing began with SerialBrain on reddit back in the tGA days. I may be wrong on this but I don't believe a word of it. It's 100% conjecture.
