So what you really mean is that there are not enough mods to keep up with the deport workload - or the mods we have on this site are incompetent/compromised and won't keep up with the workload.
Any sauce to go with that? Most of us cannot see the report queue...
I saw that earlier post. I can see how it could easily become a problem with people deporting posts for trivial reasons, and burying mods as a result.
If there was a way to disable the deport/report link for people that abuse it, that might help keep the deports down to a manageable level...
Otherwise, maybe disable the deport link for everyone and rely on mods to do all the deporting themselves... that could end up being a lot of work for the mods though.
That makes sense. The bare-bones functionality increases the workload on the mods to try to keep up with the shill attacks, and causes burn-out.
Maybe it would be better to use email addresses as usernames during sign up (many sites do this). That would make it more difficult for shills to rapidly create new accounts after they get deported. Not impossible, just more difficult and time consuming for them.
Probably too late to add that sort of major change though - which means GA will likely implode under the attacks of all the shills as a result. That is too bad... I have enjoyed this site a lot over the past months.
Agreed. Thanks very much for your efforts as a mod previously. It will be up to the crew that builds and maintains the various win sites going forward. I hope they can find a solution before it is too late.
I've deported one person several times this morning. I wish I understood the logistics of it since it doesn't seem to deport them.
But the button is there. Whether it is working or not, I have no idea.
No, I didn't think that. I thought the moderators would be doing a quicker job, and I did forget to block (my fault). However, it would be nice if some people would learn to have a hospitable, civilized conversation. You may not see a person face-to-face, but you can respond as a human being one to another, especially if that person didn't say anything to attack you. It takes the same amount and some times fewer words to have a polite conversation. But I do appreciate the information. Thank you very much.
