I always was convinced that Abe was a tyrant and the civil war was an unnecessary war of aggression that shattered states rights. I have questioned that somewhat recently, as 2020 kind of showed me what it's like to live through extraordinary times. Sometimes you make decisions that can't be so easily judged through a peace time lens. So I'll say now my mind is open to hearing different interpretations of Abe. I lean towards thinking war wasn't the best solution to the problems back then though.
Propaganda much?
