Its not military's job to fight the main stream media to disseminate proper information. If military was to declare something like that, the only outcome will be media would twist it and turn it and start smearing any military leaders involved in this that it would make it unviable for them to do their job.

So keeping quiet and doing what is necessary is the only way.
