This is a classical stoicism tenet, if not it's very core value! Love it, and has gotten me through so many seemingly "tough" situations both professionally and personally.
I HIGHLY recommend reading Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, one of the youngest emperors to be at the helm of the Roman empire. It reads like a bullet diary of his, applying sound lessons to his day to day interactions. It's important to remember he was a product of his time, though very little is actually "problematic" as the new gestapo would call it. If you're earnestly reading Aurelius, you're probably past the point of caring about PC culture.
Epictetus is another that teaches excellent stoicism through his writing, like The Enchiridion.
