To bring a finer point... Trump is literally the only thing between these asses and the people with torches and pitch forks... in reality they should be thanking him.. if Trump had really had invited anything that day.. with the numbers present.. it would have been unstoppable.. and as you point out ... any harm comes to him as a result of nefarious action.. it will be unstoppable.. not even Trumps most loyal Lt's (Pompeo/ Flynn)could hold back the flood
