I used to believe in the system - until it destroyed everyone I love through communist mechanisms. I never could believe anything right of center when it comes to supposed conspiracies and such, but after I saw it with my own eyes and experienced it..... well, that was when I woke up and said "Shit, they were right". Usually by then it's too late for most people, but I was lucky to get out alive.
