Just a daily reminder that black Americans enjoy the highest standard of living ever experienced by any African people anywhere on earth, at any time in history.
They receive free education and have all the same rights as everyone else, including the right to become president, or a bum (or both, as Foebama proved).
Instead of being taught to be grateful for the American flag of freedom they are taught to hate and denigrate (pun intended) their homeland and the long succession of white men who have fought for and guaranteed their freedom and equality for a century and a half. Yesterday was Freedom Day, commemorating the day in 1865 when President Lincoln signed the 13th Amendment into law, abolishing slavery.
Average lifespan of a slave in the Kingdom of Dahomey was approx. four months following capture. Ironically, slaves in the New World had a life expectancy many times longer than that of their slave brethren in Africa. You're welcome. (I learned that from the ultra liberal rag Creative Loafing many years ago during Black History Month. Crazy!)
That's right, white republicans are the ones who abolished slavery. Democrats very fiercely wanted to keep it. They founded the hated KKK. They also fought against blacks having citizenship. Democrats opposed the vote for black men. They fought against the vote for women. They vehemently fought against Civil Rights. Democrats have been your enemy all along.
So, get off your asses, quit whining and complaining, work, stop breaking the law, and learn to count your blessings and appreciate what America, the most generous nation on this planet, offers you.
As someone who identifies as black, I am saddened by what my ancestors had to go though. But thankful they got to America. I can’t imagine what my life would be like in Africa, I’d have a much more significant chance of still to this day being sold off as a slave.
You made so many great points. I also have reminded people that the KKK did not exclusively oppose black people, but also white people that didn't vote Democrat. It's never been about skin color, but rather ideology and culture.

Just a thought.
