Former lefty here. This is a war in feminism between the old guard (often called Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists or TERFS by their enemies) and the new guard ( intersectional feminists). Calling a feminist a TERF is basically like using the N word. It's been stigmatized to the full extent possible. So any feminist who stands up against men dressed up as women basically gets shamed out of the community. If they work in academia or in a leftist field they become so undesirable they will not be hired again in their field.
Interesting point. As an actual woman I see the feminist movement as steps backwards for women! I also remember when the idea of "Trans " was absolutely taboo, until the media made it appear okay. Now the LBQT or allowing the "Minor attracted persons" to identify with them. There is something big behind this movement and it has nothing to do with " woman"! IMO!!
I agree. My husband was a huge feminist when we started dating and actually became disillusioned with the movement because he realized it was increasingly abandoning any actual interest in women's rights and simply becoming a place to push intersectional tranny stuff.
I was raised in a far left household but never got the point of modern feminism. My gender has always been a big advantage for me (although Boy Scouts always seemed a lot more legit than Girl Scouts). I never felt at any disadvantage and it was hard for me to believe there was a systemic issue.

Isn't leftism fun?
