The fuel comes from across the airport in those huge white tanks. You drive up to the airplane, connect the hose into the valve in the ground, then connect the truck's hose to under the airport wing. Spillage is uncommon but happens. Older aircraft can sometimes slowly drip and leak. It would be zero problem to get a sample.
