To be fair, the media did not invent the term "Qanon" though they have coopted it and weaponized it.

#Qanon was the twittwr hashtag that got Gen Flynn to follow randos on twitter in the early days. It was also the most used hashtag by anons until the blue checkmarks got the algorithm to push their antiQ tweets to the top
