Why do people now insist on calling the lamest grasping fantasies “high-grade hopium”?

The ability for that term to anymore herald credible evidence for optimism has now been completely eroded.

Now there is still lots of reason for great optimism... it’s just that none of it will you find under the cheesedick heading “high-grade hopium.”
