Yes, there's a lot of ugly women in the Senate. But they don't give the vibes I've seen of the average transsexual, whether or not they were full time. There are too many hints that distinguish a transsexual from the average, homely, middle aged / elderly woman.

This. Way more effectively. We're talking HRT sometimes even before birth, shaving off chin bone, removing ribs, fat and sometimes muscle from the waist (girdle does the rest). Combine that with clothing to cover broad shoulders/chest/muscly arms, muscly neck, etc. the only giveaway is slight masculine features in the face (male skull shape).
Once head transplants are more reliable you'll never be able to tell from body shape - would need a DNA sample from the head or to know about it and guess based off skull shape.
There is a metric which is 100% effective at telling, which is how I can always tell XX from XY. It's not anywhere on the clear or deepnet - you'd need an anatomy textbook from decades ago to find it. There's a quest for you ahaha
