You can argue they are doing it a bit too desperately but it IS the truth that the plane POTUS is on is callsign AF1

Yes. He could fly in my Bonanza and it would be air force 1. Model doesn't matter. If it's the marine helicopter or osprey it's marine 1. If he hopped in with one of the Blue Angels it's Navy 1. VP is heels-up 2.

If the President flies in a civilian plane it's actually Executive 1. I can't wait to see the first President use Space Force 1.
