Exactly this. AJ says things that are true (not always) but portrays himself as a "conspiracy theorist," within the scope of its intended derogatory meaning. This discredits true things, causing others that are exploring to not even look at anything he says as being possibly true. He also says things that are false to spread disinformation and further discredit his true statements.
