Found this. IDK if it has meaning. I thought maybe some here would know. Could it just be one is right-handed one is left-handed? Or no?

I used to be an etiquette teacher, so I know this very well. Melania is being escorted. Gaga is being “dragged”
Interesting profession, didn't know etiquette was still being taught.
Yes, and a huzzah to all those who teach etiquette! BTW, this little piece of etiquette would be taught on day one of ballroom (or social) dance lessons. Ladies are escorted on and off the dance floor by their partners exactly as shown with FLOTUS. Haven't I been telling single pedes to take up ballroom since the Obama admin? Etiquette. Just one more reason to dance.
Why not just make any person willing to commit our service personnel to any active zone or rather by them creating any foreign active zone, without first having to duel with that active zone’s country’s opposite political number or like for like opposition ..... including the country that supports such active zone..... all of those politicians must have to fight a duel using musket pistols with lead shot...!
As Mr Thomas Sewell has often said and has said for many a year, how can we allow our elected representatives to make decisions that have no consequences for them as well as us....!
It’s ridiculous when you really think it through or rather pause to think about it, just how much truth there is to that simple statement....... it effectively applies to how our days and lives are ‘controlled’ by any means you can care to think of....it’s just that cutting as a clear and concise way to explain the unexplainable ....!

I agree. The left is always talking about consequences when they cancel a person speaking freely. I would support legislation that holds a politician specifically responsible for the decisions and actions they make. I realize that "voting" is supposed to be that exact thing, but I think we know how that has been going. Politicians SHOULD be afraid, they SHOULD be held in jeopardy for their actions.
What?
An etiquette lesson might have taught you to be gracious in disregarding the grammar to appreciate the message.
People no longer use correct English, they type it as they hear it. So, "he had better of" (which is really poor English) should read "he had better HAVE" (although in a sentence it is "have" it is bastardized to "of"). Drives me crazy!
To add:
My recollection is that the woman was on side with the sword in scabbard leaving the man's sword arm free to draw. So they could be on either the right or left arm depending on which was the man's sword arm. They could then easily step in front of her and draw.
However, I've read in history of weaponry that all swordsmanship was done with the right hand/arm. Don't know for sure as I wasn't there, lol.
(us lefties were not exactly welcome in society)
Indeed*. Castle & fort stairways were usually on the right as you faced them to ascend. The advancing swordsman had the disadvantage of the wall next to his sword arm while the defender above had free swing. However, it was all fun & games until the right-handed swordsman met a Danish housecarl and their left-handed axemen...
A. You couldn't get close
B. They swung from the wrong side
C. You were dead

*IIRC, one of the Italian master of arms / instructors taught nobility left-handed swordsmanship. It was an advantage to switch hands in the middle of the fight.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I was a fencer. Our team coach was a left-handed maestro so when we took a lesson from him, we faced a left-handed opponent. We were somewhat of a power in our little corner of the universe and other teams tried all sorts of strategies to beat us. One was to present a lineup of lefties. What a surprise when Coach came up to sign the match card... left-handed.
You are so sinister
I see what you did there, Dexter.
I see what you did there.
We're da real minority.
Judges 3:21-22
My understanding is it is also the reason buttons on coats were different for men and women. Unbutton with the left so you could draw with the right.
My understanding from the advanced fashionistas in the house is that ladies clothing fastening is designed and placed for dressers to be able to be conveniently fastened and unfastened. This works out well for we men...
As much as I want to believe this. Her dress was long and she was holding it while walking. So it could just be a case of her not being able to hold onto the Marine.
Good point. I didnt think of that. I just wanted to hear peoples thoughts, I did not expect it to take off like this and get stickied.
Interesting idea, but no. Long, large, and wide dresses would not ever induce a gentleman to grip a lady by the bicep in public. There surely is a reason, but it is not that one.
Very interdasting.
