I don’t believe praying, i.e. asking for help and intercession from Angels and Saints in heaven is considered worship to most Catholic or Orthodox Christians. Worship is the offering of sacrifice to a deity, i.e. like the priests offered to God in the Old Testament times, or today in the Catholic Mass. Worship is reserved only to God. Asking for intercession to angels and saints is also consistent with Old Testament scripture.
You do not pray to created beings - you ask the CREATOR to dispatch angelic help. Intercessions to "saints" is praying to the dead, strictly forbidden by the Bible.
Yes, your religion which was created by a mentally ill person 500 years ago that removed. Who removed books from the real Bible, told you that you don't need God to be saved just interpret the Bible anyway you feel. Who after 1,500 years of scripture and tradition decided God got it wrong...Yes, you must be the protestant guru we must all believe...lol. You have no understanding buddy...look to Jesus' Church and be enlightened.
By Jesus' Church do you mean the church of Rome? The satanic, pedo, idol worshipers? No thanks. And Jesus is the only one I follow, not Luther or any other human.
The Catholic church is Jesus' church. You do follow the mentally ill Luther or one of the 20,000 variations. Your ignorance and bitterness of God's church will not serve you well.
Matt. 5:44-45 – Jesus tells us to pray for (to mediate on behalf of) those who persecute us. God instructs us to mediate. But are you saying beings that see the face of God in heaven can’t mediate for us?
I’ll check out your link. Thanks
Where does God instruct us to meditate or nominate heavenly beings to meditate on our behalf? We meditate on THE WORD - The BIBLE. We pray to Jesus and God the Father - anything else is false, unscriptural and forbidden as it leads to idolatry and false worship. I know, I was raised a Catholic and it took me a long time to see what I needed to. The choice is between worshiping in Truth and in Spirit according to God's word, or falling prey to man-made doctrine, distortions and lies. The most terrifying passage in the Bible is Matthew 7:23: Jesus said I never knew you, depart from me you workers of iniquity. Don't blindly follow tradition/inherited beliefs - question, investigate, pray to be led to truth.
James 5:16 “Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much. “
We only pray to God obliviously, but there nothing wrong asking others to pray for us also, including saints and angels, this is what is meant by intercession, nothing else.
Jesus himself warned us not to offend small children, because their guardian angels have guaranteed intercessory access to the Father: “See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Matt. 18:10).
REV 8:3 And another angel came and stood before the altar, having a golden censer: and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints, upon the golden altar which is before the throne of God.
REV 8:4 And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel.
“1 Tim. 2:5 – therefore, although Jesus Christ is the sole mediator between God and man, there are many intercessors (subordinate mediators).
John 2:3 – Jesus knew the wine was gone, but invites and responds to Mary’s intercession. God desires our lesser mediation and responds to it because He is a living and loving God.
John 2:5 – Mary intercedes on behalf of those at the wedding feast and tells them to do whatever Jesus tells them. Because Mary is our perfect model of faith, we too intercede on behalf of our brothers and sisters.
John 2:11 – in fact, it was Mary’s intercession that started Jesus’ ministry. His hour had not yet come, yet Jesus responds to Mary’s intercession. Even though He could do it all by Himself, God wants to work with His children.”
