Do you think the military cares would it is called?
Any amateur historian knows what will happen once the military establishes itself as the supreme authority. They need to be able to retreat back under civilian authority or risk becoming the desire of power hungry men.
Roman Senate --> Roman Emperors --> Generals --> collapse.
The military cannot become a political force.
Not for very long, I've watched Star wars I know who it ends
