The VFW my grandpa attended, shit, those guys were plentiful and they communicated, however they got fat eating AYCE hotdog and spaghetti dinners, and drinking boiler makers every night trying to numb the pain of what they experienced and the overwhelmingly crushing feeling they got once they figured out they didn't do what they did because of patriotism.. When I joined the VFW, it was all I could do to cancel my membership and convince their HQ to stop bothering me.

Any of the known vet organizations in the mainstream are ridiculed, demonized, and basically given the ol'Militiagan treatment..
