No the Church just paid people to shut up but continued to diddle kids! Catholics need to pay more attention, their World's are about to be rocked big time if this all comes to light!!!
I was raised Catholic. I quit giving to collection due to the hypocrisy and desecration of the word of God caused by these animals in the vestments of Christ. Until the Church addresses these crimes seriously I will not give to the Church.
In fact I'm considering turning Episcopal. It's kind of like Americanized Catholicism. Well more specifically it's Americanized Anglicanism which Anglicanism is basically Anglicized Catholicism. Which basically means it's like the Catholicism without the pomp.
I will have to look into that. I was also raised Catholic and stopped going to church in my early 20s, after my Dad died. I was force fed so much religion I ran as fast as I could, like many Catholics do. I do feel the need for some form of Church in my life, esp. for my kids but that "Catholic guilt" has kept me from exploring churches, lol, they are good at ingraining that guilt in us!!
Yeah. All three of them are similar in terms of practice. All three have the sacrament. Most American protestant religions to my knowledge do not. Also being part Czech/Bohemian I'm looking into the Hussites. Obviously they probably don't have a huge following in America but they were really the first widespread reform movement of the Church so I imagine many of their practices are similar as well.
