I don't think it matters. Even if they end up impeaching/convicting him, it's still meaningless for a civilian. Just theatrics.
But, as someone else said, it does set precedent. I wonder which former president will be next? Or, a former Speaker of the House, or a former senator, or a former representative. The list is long!
I think if they convict he will be barred from holding public office.
