Military is only supposed to break the sound barrier at high altitudes or over the ocean.
Maybe these guys missed that day in training.
Or it wasn't a sonic boom....
I used to live near Edward’s Air Force base in the high desert of California. When the space shuttle would come in to land - BOOM! And my house would reverberate. That happened 3 or 4 times when I lived there.

There was another recent sonic boom in the UK a week ago or so.
