Only way to get out of lockdown was to play them at their own game and develop a fast vax. They wanted to tank economy by keeping lockdown going for years until " a vaccine is found" - so Trump said screw you and developed warpspeed vax to shit on their plans and make them look transparently stupid and hypocritical now they have to scramble to find some excuse to keep lockdowns going.
