Even if you hated someone and were arguing with that person, face to face and then something happened and that person needed your help, you would help them as they would you. Not everyone has human qualities but that is just the way it is but most of us are human and humans are caring by nature.
Dogs are caring by nature, even most wild animals. There is plenty of studies where most people that commit murder have some form of mental illness. Violence, murder, war, etc have flooded history but that's such a tiny fraction of the human population.
We don't have to be friends with everyone or even get along but typically humans are good at co-existing and keeping life going.
